The Directive 2013/65/EC

The Directive 2013/65/EC on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (commonly referred to as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive or RoHS) restricts the use of certain hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment.

The EU-Directive was implemented into German law in March 2005 through the 'Elektro- und Elektronikgerätegesetz’ (see also Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz und Reaktorsicherheit).
